Match Report (06/09/09)

Hi Everyone,

The weekend started with a superb performance against the 'Old Firm' in Flint and Bagillt Colts.
and a 1-0 win for us, was the icing on the cake. It was probably an honest assessment to say that our 'keeper' was man of the match , which also attributed to him being spotted by a scout for Tranmere Rovers Football Club, which will eventually lead to him being offered an invitation to attend their academy for a period of coaching . We also have to congratulate the 'Colts' on their excellent contribution to a brilliant game of football, especially at this level.
The venue, as with the rest of the season, was Flint Town United football ground and it proved to be a successful decision on behalf of the committee to allow the games to take place there. (Keith also had a fruitful day at the helm of the 'Bacon Butty bistro') Back to the game (I'm hungry now) the boys are carrying on were they left off last season, and are still a difficult side to beat, with some fine tuning still to be had in the art of putting the opposition under pressure. I thought the new boy's where excellent in there attitude and patience, they will only get better. And well done to the old boys who are playing consistently well together.
We have also completed the signing of the last player (Promised last week) who, after one training session looks a very promising acquisition. One things for sure, we won't be investigated by FIFA for offering parents 'sweetener's' as signing on fees, as we are down to our last sixpence in the bank account. (I'll check that with Elaine)
We have got a free weekend in the fixture list next time around so, we have a arranged a couple of friendlies. First one up this Friday (11th Sept) is against Flint under 8's and hopefully Sunday (13th Sept) against Mynydd Isa.

See you all Soon
Mark

P.S. Thanks to Kev Loftus for refereeing the games on Sunday...
