Match Report (Thursday 16/4/09)

Hello Everyone,

Firstly, many thanks to the teams from Deeside and Holywell for agreeing to the rearranged fixture.

Well what can I say about this one. We ended the season with our last home game on a low point
(Lower than a low thing lying low). We just didn't compete, and everything we worked on in training seemed to be completely alien on the football pitch, and once again the very small squad was probably our down fall with not many options available with only seven players.
I am going to attribute the display to the fact that we consumed too many 'Easter Eggs' and the players burning themselves out at Nev's soccer school all week (That's my excuse anyway).
I was asked who would I give Man of the Match to, to be quite honest I couldn't pick one .
Anyway, up next is our last game of the season so we will be looking to go out with a bang, which will hopefully prepare us for a busy schedule of Tournaments

See you all on Tuesday

Match Report (Sunday 5/4/09)

Hello Everyone,

What a brilliant day for a game of football, it's a shame the lads where lost in some other place with what seemed to be a large cloud of 'doom' hanging over them. I think they were still feeling the effects of the clock going forward (Oh! that was the week before, that's that one out then) The training regime has been going well, but at the moment the lads can't seem to convert the methods and hard work into some form of consistent display at competitive games. Having said that, I did receive a comment from a well respected coach that our team have improved since the last time he watched one of our games. We did win one game out of the three with a wonder goal from the 'Xabi Alonso of Cornist'. We also terrorised the defence's on occasions with our striker in fine form but we were unable to create many clear cut goalscoring chances, which was our downfall in the end. There was also a brave and commanding display from our Goalkeeper.
(Steve also mentioned something about singing lessons??) Praise also goes to a couple of the players who soldiered on despite not being 100% on the day, but still insisted on playing.

P.S. One of the other positives of the day was the 'Storming' performance from the debutant Referee. (Oh! by the way, he still owes Graham the two pence coin he borrowed off him)

See you at Training on Tuesday!!
