2009 Fixture list published

Clwyd Junior Football League - Under 8's Fixtures

Elaine has passed me the remaining fixtures for the 2008/9 season and I have now added them to the Team Calendar

Matches should kick off in the mornings and are currently shown on the calendaras a 10am start (to allow warm up time). The actual start times are at the descretion of the Home team manager and are usually confirmed a few days before the match, with Mark contacting our players and parents directly. Maps to away fixtures will be added to calendar in due course.

Training sessions remain 5-6pm on Tuesday's at the Flint High School Astroturf, commencing on the 6th January. Everyone should pray for snow. Lets see if we can make mark's legs go blue!

Have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Last game of the year!!

Hello everyone,

The last games of the year went ahead today at our home pitch against the two Hawarden teams and Flint Colts, despite some bad weather over the past week. A pitch inspection took place this morning at 9 O'clock and amazingly it passed with flying colours.

The year went out on a high note with two wins and a defeat, with a good all round team performance (Not without some jittery moments though!) and in particular, some great goalkeeping and individual attacking efforts in some blustery but mild conditions. (What! it was freezing comes the reply) So, we have now completed the first half of the season and I am looking forward to the second half. A big well done to the lads for their attendance at training and games.

I trust you will all have fantastic Christmas and a even better New Year...
See you all soon

Mark

Please spare us the legs?

Following the mass escape from Bernard Matthew's farm, police believe they may have identified the last of the fugitives masquerading as a football coach in North Wales.

Mynydd Isa Game

Hello everyone,

Sunday's (7th Dec) game at Mynydd Isa went ahead after some uncertainty about the condition of the pitch, with inspections taking place on Sunday morning. The early morning sun(yes the Sun) was the decisive factor in helping with the 'thaw' after a heavy overnight frost.

That was the good news, the bad news was that we lost both our games against Mynydd Isa and Flint & Bagillt Colts, but it wasn't through lack of commitment in the team with some good 'gritty' performances. Also, we were thwarted by some good goalkeeping from the opposing sides and down to our minimum of seven players with two of the squad laid low with the 'Trots' (That’s the technical term) so although quite a few players took some knocks during the games we had to soldier on. So, well done to the guys on that one..

Next up is our last home game of the year at the 'Richard Gwyn Stadium' so let's see the year out on a high......

Mark.
