Hope Farm (Vauxhall FC) Tournament

Hello Everyone,

What a difference compared to the last Tournament, the facilities, pitches (Although we were unlucky enough to have probably the worst pitch) and the organisation was muched improved and so was the team, with only one defeat out of seven games. The guys were off on a much needed good run which gave them a huge confidence boost. Well!! it was Father's day. (not forgetting Mums) The Tournaments are providing us with a great chance to test our skills against a wide variety of teams from the North West including teams from Manchester, Liverpool and the Wirral (God's Country) Hence, I am sure we will be a better team because of this, come next season .
The Tournament ended on two high notes, the first one being a 4-0 win against a club with a good reputation in Castrol and, our striker was spotted and invited to go along to the Crewe Alexandra Academy were he can show off his skills to a range of Professional Coaches and hopefully do well..
Good Luck Lewis!!!

Next up is the Tournament at Parkgate, Wirral, which promises to be just as good.
After this we will be taking a well earned rest to recharge for the coming season.

Colwyn Bay Tournament (6-6-09)

Hi Everyone,

We thought the Summer had arrived last week but sadly we where tricked, the Winter conditions made a comeback, what a miserable day. The pitch was of a poor standard and sadly so was the organisation, with the Tournament over running by approximately 1Hour and 20 Mins.
The good old Gazebo made an appearance but not for long, with the bad memories of the last one still fresh in our minds it was soon packed away.
As for the games, there is a pattern forming that the guys are 'slow starters' with three defeats in the first three games. Yet again the lads ended on a high with a draw against a decent team from Whiston. We are still finding it difficult to score goals at present, but the lads effort and commitment is second to none. Well done to you all. I keep saying it but, all we need is a couple of wins to turn the tide in our favour ,and I am sure we will be off.
Next up is the Vauxhall Tournament which is organised by Hope Farm FC and is a six-a-side competition which should be interesting.

See you at Training

End of Season Report

Hello Everyone,

Well, the season has had more up's and down's (I know what your thinking) than a backbencher
in the House of Commons at question time (Ha! that fooled you).

Seriously, it's been a pleasure and an honour to be involved with such a great bunch of kids in this, our first season. Steve and I set out some key areas at the start of the season, to which we have worked on rigidly. The guy's have conformed in every aspect and generally taken on board what we have been trying to get across to them. Not just focusing on the football side of things but focusing on ethical topics such as respect, teamwork, encouragement, friendship, education and hopefully enjoyment, which will help them acquire the necessary skills for adult life.

I am certainly looking forward to next season were I am sure things will just 'click' into place and we will start to see the benefits of all the hard work everyone has put in.

On a personal note, I would like to thank Steve for his commitment and football knowledge that he has brought to the team this season, and long may it continue.
