New Season

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to the new season (Doesn't time fly) with our first game on Sunday 6th September at Flint Town Football ground (Pitch permitting) Kick Off 11:00, against the 'Old Firm' Flint & Bagillt Colts.

There are some changes to the format this year (Under 9's) These are :- 8 a side, game duration one hour against one side with three twenty minute matches or similar, home games at Flint Town United football ground or Flint High School, size 4 match balls.

The training sessions have continued throughout the Summer with the aim of introducing and familiarising the new signings with the rest of the boys, in preparation for the new season. Hopefully we will have twelve players signed on by the end of the week (Yes I know the transfer window is closed) and this will be the maximum number of players that we will have for the season. This will give us greater flexibility in being able to cope with whatever the season will throw at us, and what a great bunch of guys we have.
The new players are:- Ryan (Dollo to the boys), Dan and hopefully Sam by the end of the week.
Also, welcome back to Lewis who has been on his travels throughout the Summer, mainly to Crewe Alexandra Academy. Hopefully he will bring the experience gained at Crewe back to the team, which can only be positive.

And not to mention our new kit and rain jackets (these will definitely come in handy) which was purchased with a kind donation from UK Exhibitions, who's name will be featured on the front panel of the shirt. Although we have maintained the traditional club colours of black and white, we have been slightly outrageous and varied the theme on the shirts, which I think look very smart.
A big thank you must go to Ang (WAG & Charlie's Mum) for sourcing the sponsor and ordering the kit.

So, it's on to the game on Sunday, I know that Steve and I are looking forward to it and I am certain the boys are well up for it....See you there.

Parkgate Tournament (26-7-09)

Hi Everyone,

Sorry this one is a bit late in coming (Much like the Summer). Well, this was our last Tournament of the season and you would of presumed that organising a Tournament for the end of July would of pretty much guaranteed good weather.
Not on your Nelly!! what a miserable day. The facility's didn't get much better either, this tournament was billed as "Bigger and better than last year", bigger maybe (Size isn't everything!) but only better presuming that last year's matches were played on an allotment somewhere in Bromborough. Anyway, that's the moan out of the way. The lads are proving a difficult side to beat judging by recent performances, yet again the team spirit was excellent, with only one loss out of seven games against some of the best teams on the Wirral.

Well done to all the guys!! and to the Parents for braving the conditions again.
I think we have had more soakings in the Summer than all through the Winter (oops! I'm off on one again)...

Hope Farm (Vauxhall FC) Tournament

Hello Everyone,

What a difference compared to the last Tournament, the facilities, pitches (Although we were unlucky enough to have probably the worst pitch) and the organisation was muched improved and so was the team, with only one defeat out of seven games. The guys were off on a much needed good run which gave them a huge confidence boost. Well!! it was Father's day. (not forgetting Mums) The Tournaments are providing us with a great chance to test our skills against a wide variety of teams from the North West including teams from Manchester, Liverpool and the Wirral (God's Country) Hence, I am sure we will be a better team because of this,come next season .
The Tournament ended on two high notes, the first one being a 4-0 win against a club with a good reputation in Castrol and, our striker was spotted and invited to go along to the Crewe Alexandra Academy were he can show off his skills to a range of Professional Coaches and hopefully do well..

Next up is the Tournament at Parkgate, Wirral, which promises to be just as good.
After this we will be taking a well earned rest to recharge for the coming season.
