Hello Everyone,
Unfortunately this weeks game (23rd November) against Mynydd Isa has been called off due to the pitch being a victim of the bad weather. Many thanks to the guys at Mynydd Isa who inspected the pitch on two occasions prior to making the decision to cancel.
Ironically, our next game is at Mynydd Isa on December 7th but, with our extended summer weather pattern persisting we will have to wait and see on that one.
It is very frustrating as the guys are raring to go!! It would be good if our away games were in somewhere like Trinidad & Tobago instead of the outer reaches of Flintshire. I don't think the schools would be on board with that one. We also don't have the luxury of the MLS and Mr Beckham and Co. in that we have a four month Winter break.
In the meantime, we welcome Shotton Steel Under 9's (The Veterans) to our training session on Tuesday 2nd December, for a friendly. Hopefully the pitch will resist what Mother nature will throw at it ,but can the Parents Ha! .Maybe I could have an idea for fundraising here in that everyone(including Parents) comes to training in Shorts and Trainers yeh!! (In the Winter I mean) Please reply to this post in more than two words !!! Ta!
See you all soon

West Kirby Friendly
Hi Everyone,
Sadly we were unable to put our skills to the test in the friendly at West Kirby. This was due to illness and lack of players in our very small squad. To address this problem we will be having a recruitment campaign to increase the size of the squad. Hopefully we can rearrange the friendly in the near future. Apologies go to Paul Gray and his team at West Kirby Wasps for the late cancellation.
Steve and I are off to complete our coaching course Tomorrow (Sunday)
See you all at training on Tuesday!!!

Hi Everyone,
Great effort on Saturday against Rhyl Academy under 6 Footer's, I mean under 8's. The team gave a superb account of themselves and were well up for the challenge. It was a pity we succumbed to a very early goal, but we didn't let our heads drop. We didn't lose, we just ran out of time...
Unfortunately, Steve and I missed the games on Sunday against Aston and Flint Under 7's as we where on a coaching course, with both Steve and I the 'Guinea Pigs' for Gareth Owen (He ran the course)to deliver his drills. (now we know how the lads feel) We might bring our Zimmer frames with us on Tuesday as we are still recovering .And how about this for coincidence, Gareth played in Midfield for Rhyl on the Saturday. And so, its off to play in Europe for our next game, yes Costa Del West Kirby who according to the statistics are 'Mustard'.
But we all know that Statistics are like Bikinis- "What they reveal is suggestive, but what they conceal is vital"
That's all folks

Glory, Glory, Sunny Rhyl
We were hosted by Rhyl FC as mascots for their game against Caersws on Saturday November 8th. We clapped the players onto the pitch at the start, and played a short game against the Rhyl Academy at half time on the main pitch in front of 491 spectators! Rhyl ran out 3-1 winners over Caersws, so although we lost our mini-game 2-0 we all went home happy after a great day out.

The official photographs of the Rhyl game can be seen here.

The official photographs of the Rhyl game can be seen here.
The match was filmed and the highlights shown on Sgorio on S4C. (link only available until 15th December 2008). You can just see our team sat in the stands eating chips! at 23:29 and 24:05!

Rhyl FC Mascots and Exhibition Match!!!
On Saturday 8th November, our team will be mascots at the Rhyl FC home game and we will lead the players out at the start of the game.
As if that wasn't cool enough, we also get to play an exhibition game against the Rhyl FC juniors at half time on the main pitch in front of the crowd.
All players to be in their full FAB kit including black track suit wearing trainers. Shin pads and ffootball boots are to be brought with you for use in the exhibition game at half time.
We have to be in Rhyl for 2pm, but will assemble in Flint to drive down in convoy. Meeting place is 1:15pm PROMPT in the MacDonalds car park in Flint.
This event has been added to the Club Calendar, and there is also a Map to Rhyl FC Ground

Team Charter
We have decided to outline some 'key' messages will be for the forthcoming 2008/9 season. If anyone has any issues relating to these, or any other issues (except marriage guidance)
please feel free to approach either Mark, Steve(Cloughie) or Elaine.
1. Non contact Training
The training will be strictly non contact unless a 'First Aider' is present. This can be in the form of a coach or parent with a current certificate.
2. First aid kit at all Training/Games
A suitable first aid kit to be at all training and games
3. Protective Equipment
Players must always wear Shin Pads for training and games
4. Respect
Players must respect each other, officials and parents
5. 'Foul' language
The use of foul Language won't be tolerated in training or games (from players, coaches or parents).
6. Guaranteed games
If the players attendance at training is on a regular basis they will be playing in competitive games using a 'Roll on', 'Roll off' system
7. Awards
When the season comes to an end the whole squad will receive an award, with two individual awards, these will be:-
1. Players player of the year
2. Parents player of the year
The selection process will be decided by a 'Ballot'
Objectives
This is all about development at this age so, although the desire to win games will be present in the team 'attitude' we won't put direct pressure on the team members (we will leave that to the parents to endure)
If the players still have the passion and enjoyment for their Football by the time they reach the 11-a-side stage then we have accomplished our aims as parents and coach’s
All information regarding dates, times and venues for games will be relayed to parents at the training session prior to the game taking place (and maps where appropriate).
Please contact us if your player is unavailable for the games.
Anyone with ideas for social gatherings involving parents and children (or without the children)
throughout the season please let us know
Lets have a Fun Season!!
On behalf of Mark, Steve and Elaine many thanks again for your support
